CHRISTMAS IS EVERYWHERE AHHHH

It seems that Christmas has been absent in our house for a couple of years now. All of a sudden my house is Christmassy with decorations everywhere. There are candy- canes, bells, lights outside and inside, garland and 2 mini Christmas tree. This is a little intense. Oh and a penguin, tree and bell things that sing. Actually that one is my favourite one. Kind of weird :S

LIGHTROOM!!

I finally got lightroom!! YAY..Now I have to figure out how to use it. It looks not as difficult as photoshop was to figure out..But we will see, or I will see. I've also got to work on an exam so maybe I'll have an image to post and maybe not.

msn piss off!!

While I'm in class I decide to sign into msn because I'm on break and I need to entertain myself some how. I do my normal thing but I MUST update msn or I can't log in. Fine I do this but I don't check mark anything. Now I can't get onto the internet. Google won't load with my firefox. Of course this window was open before, so I can write on here. But this is honestly very very frustrating!!!

Why would you get this tattooed??

If you know me, you know that I love piercings and tattoos and that I am a very open minded person. If you didn't know that, now you do. Everyone can and will do what they want, but why would you get this tattooed?? Maybe as a joke, or maybe because you're in love with your computer? Either way it's cool that this person got the tattoo, but the question that I would like answered is why?

....Throughout our lifetime people come in and out of our lives. Nothing is static. We learn from these people, we get close to them and then they fade away. Some people seem to be there at the right time. I'd like to believe that quote that "friends are the family that you get to choose," but blood is still thicker than water. Now that sounds kind of cliche as well, but it's true...

If your family is angry at you, it's because they want the best for you. O.K so it's not really great when they disregard your feelings because of theirs however, after all is said and done and the dust settles, they will still be there. They watched you grow and grew with you. Now if they're not for a bit that's understandable. Again maybe not really understandable because sometimes they do not have to react the way they do. Things are very subjective. But at the same time you gotta know how they most definitely will react.

I'm still not very huge on the family thing, but I'm very cynical about the friend thing too. I love to hope and see the best in people but you will always be let down. I've never had that close friend or best friend relationship because my so called best friends really weren't. I am the type of person that will be there when you need me, help out and do the best I can. I am not like this because I expect anything in return, I'm just generally a nice person. I would like to think that my friends would appreciate my friendship but I'm not sure. I do not expect them to drop their lives for me or anything like that. I am a rational person and I understand that everyone has their own lives and has to do what they got to do and that's fine. But as I loose hope and become more cynical day after day it shows me how horrible people are and humans in general are. Then you can say I'm jaded and I make it seem that negative, but if your happy your more likely to buy anything, if you're not, then you think more critically.

I move in and out of my cynicism trying to become hopeful once again, because if we don't have hope then we might as well die. There is nothing without hope however, it's something foolish to buy into because sooner or later you end up back at square 1. Or at least I do.

So here I am at Square 1. Maybe you will see me again, or maybe I will just disappear.

For the longest time I've wondered how people were editing their raw images in photoshop, but I just figured out how. I'm pretty excited about this. If you're having a problem with it, you have to download a png converter, which can be found on the adobe website.

Now I should get adobe Lightroom : (

Actually I came back a while ago and I'm just really lazy & not a huge fan of computers because when I turn them on, I can't get to turning them off. My external hardrive still isn't fixed and there's not any space left on my computer so I am left unable to see or edit any pictures from my camera : (

I don't know about you but for me growing up with the old xmen cartoons was awesome. Well until they were not on the air anymore. So Marvel has been showing the full episodes on their site. This is what started my love for the xmen and mutants and well wanting to be a mutant. lol. Check it out!

My experience with photography so far..

I am a Toronto based photographer, I would like to say artist, but that all depends on your definition of photography.

This year I went through the first photography course that I have ever taken and it was considered an introduction photography class for non majors. Because of this non major fact, we were unable to use any of the facilities that usual photography majors use. We did not have access to a studio, lighting equipment (no soft box & no umbrellas) or a dark room. We were given a demonstration on lighting, including strobe lighting and we were also given reflectors to use. It kind of sucked because this was only one class and we did not actually get to use lighting equipment. So ultimately the only experience I have is my history of taking photographs with a point and shoot and this year, shooting with my DSLR. I have an old film camera that I want to use but I'm thinking that when I learn more about film photography, I'll start using that camera.

As for photoshop which is considered to be the dark room for digital on PC, I have been teaching myself and do not have any formal education on the program. I want to take some classes on photography that will give me exposure to various equipment and also on photoshop which will hopefully teach me some tricks that I do not know. Perhaps I will try working for a studio first.

I was approach by a photographer who saw my first lanscape photos and liked them. He gave me his website and was very enthusiastic. His company specializes in occasions and weddings. I think that this might be a great opportunity but at the same time, I would really like to learn do in studio work first.
