Mike Vick can play football again and has been an advocate against animal cruelty after his charge. Part of his sentence was that he could never own a dog again. He said that he hopes one day that he can own a dog again, especially since his children want a dog. The organization that was allowed to take in Mike Vick's dogs asked him if he would like to see the dogs and after a couple of days he decided not to see them. I know they are just dogs, they aren't humans, I know they won't understand apologizing or remorse, but for himself, to see what else these dogs could be (other than fighters) it would make sense to. If he wasn't caught or charged I don't think that he would have advocated against dog fighting and it would have just continued.
This is just a clip of when they got the dogs and what the organization had to say about them.

Your dog isn't a "pit bull"? "Get out of jail free" card for you!
A dog leaps its fence and attacks another dog, probably crushing its trachea (meaning that the attacking dog went for the throat). It will apparently cost the victim dog's owners $4,500 to save their dog.
Were the words "savage", "bloodthirsty" or any of the usual tripe used in the media report?
Nope.
The attacking dog wasn't a "pit bull".
Was the attacking dog shot on sight?
Was its owner charged?
Nope.
The attacking dog wasn't a "pit bull".
Were Toronto Police right to say it wasn't their problem?
Nope, IMHO.
As I understand it, the Toronto Police have authority under the Provincial Offences Act and by extension the Ontario Dog Owners' Liability Act to charge the owner of an attacking dog.
McSquinty's Fib Ontario created two classes of citizens.
If you own a dog that's a "pit bull" (despite the fact that no such thing exists), your dog may be killed and you may be charged. Even just on sight. Without doing anything wrong. Just because of the way your dog looks.
If your dog isn't a "pit bull", you can get away with your animal murdering another, apparently without repercussions.

Mike Vicks dogs
So there is a lawyer in Ontario that wants the Supreme Court of Canada to look at the pitbull ban. He is appealing the decisions of other courts to the Supreme Court. Apparently the S.C. does not want to look at the issue and believes that this breed is unpredictable and will attack. Well if you think about it any animal is unpredictable because you never know what they are thinking. There are many dogs larger than pitbulls that can do just as much damage. There is no such physical thing as lock jaw.
A woman in my neighbourhood had a german shephard and when she was outside the dog was outside without a leash around her children and my friends and I walked home from the bus stop passing by. She saw my dog and thinks it is this breed. She said he's unpredictable and dangerous. We know my dog's personality and history and he is an absolute awesome dog that is scared of everything. He is not a fear aggressive dog, he is pretty much a coward, but we love him, he is a joy and his temperment is perfect. Even though we know my dog he's still unpredictable she says. And she says she knew her dog and she was trained. So you know your dog and left her off leash around kids and strangers and she was predictable even though you can't tell what any animal is thinking, and any animal can "snap". But we know our dog but that doesn't matter because of what she thinks he is. She also pulled her hand back and pretended to hit him but he didnt do anything. I guess she was expecting him to bite or bark or "attack" or something. A week ago a newspaper described a pitbull as blood thirsty. This got me angry but i guess newspapers will say anything to get people to read and buy the paper.
Anyways I am going on a little rant however, I don't watch Rachel Ray at all but I stumbled across this on the Badrap website.

If you want to learn more instead of relying on the one sided media read about these animals from pedigree books or read about their history. It is better to be informed and make your own decisions rather than relying on ignorance and media.
- even though you are watching media on here lol.
